Neuschwanstein Castle is quite possibly one of the most recognizable castles in the world. Neuschwanstein was built by King Ludwig II, the eccentric ruler of Bavaria in the mid 1800s. King Ludwig lived in the castle for just 180 days before he mysteriously drowned along with his doctor. The castle is located in southern Bavaria near the Austrian border. The only access to the castle is via a steep road on the far side. This beautiful image is one of our most popular jigsaw puzzles.
